What Personal Information do we collect?

We (‘we’, ’our’ and ‘us’ refers to The Jerusalem Trust, The Sainsbury Family Charitable Trusts office and the administrators of The Jerusalem Trust’s Small Grants to Schools Scheme) only collect limited Personal Information about grant applicants, such as name, school email address and place of work. We will not share your Personal Information with anyone else.

We may collect, store and use the following kinds of data:

a) information that you provide to us for the purpose of completing online grant application forms;
b) information that you provide to us in order for us to pay grant awards;
c) information that you provide to us when completing online report forms;
d) information that you provide to us when submitting a query via the online contact form or email;
e) information from publicly available sources.

How do we use the information you provide or from publicly available sources?

We will use the information you provide or from publicly available sources only for the following purposes:

a) to assess your application and check its validity with your school by email, telephone or school website;
b) to provide your school with a grant award;
c) to request the 12 month report which you agree to supply should a grant be awarded;
d) to compile the annual report to The Jerusalem Trust trustees;
e) to answer a query;
f) to send information regarding grant opportunities which we think may be of interest to you, by email.
Our legal basis for this processing is to fulfil our legitimate interests as a grant awarding organisation.

Retention of your personal data

We will keep limited personal data for the shortest time necessary in order to fulfil our legitimate interests as a grant awarding organisation, to confirm that a relationship existed between us and yourself, and to deal with any queries relating to a grant award, whether successful or unsuccessful, which may arise in the future.

Security of your personal data

We use a number of mechanisms to protect the security and integrity of your information. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Whilst we strive to protect such information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us and you do so at your own risk. Once any information comes into our possession, we will take reasonable steps and all other precautions required by law to protect that information from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
